About Emmaus Suffolk

The charity provides education, training (including employment training) and work opportunities, and brings about the relief of poverty and resulting distress by helping people develop their skills in order to gain future employment, and maintain their sense of self-worth and dignity. Since opening its first retail outlet at the Dales in Feb 16, the charity has opened a further retail outlet at Sailmakers in Ipswich town centre and this has recently been joined by a third outlet in Felixstowe. The Dales site is the charity hub offering a small café, community garden both open to the public plus upcycling workshop as well as laundry facilities and a shower room for volunteers. We have helped and worked with 244 people since opening, 31 volunteers have moved on into employment. We offer support and advice on employment, mental health, training and lifeskills to name a few things. 60% of our charitable costs are covered by our own trading income and we have no statutory funding. To find out more about the support and services we offer at Emmaus Suffolk visit our website at https://www.emmaussuffolk.org.uk
